Matt Karash: Canes Game Preview #5: @Wpg: Week to make a stand

The addition of Skinner should jump start the offence and the Canes need to establish who is the number one goalie and I don't know if it is just me but it seems like Khudobin has earned it but management still wants it to be Ward. I have never seen a goalie play this well and keep getting dealt the lousy hand. It happened most of last year and it is happening again this year. If you do not give the guys the reins to be number one how can we expect him to settle into it. Hoping for a big road win in Winnipeg tonite.

As much as I'd like the Canes to have McDavid I will not cheer against them. Buffalo fans are welcome to cheer for their team to tank. In spite of their slow start they have been more fun to watch than last years version. Hoping for a win against Coach Maurice.

The only reason I can see for starting Ward over Khudobin is management is trying to make Ward more attractive for a trade later on. Khudobin has been a stronger and more consistent option since he was obtained.

Dobie deserves to be the #1. Management hopefully sees that sooner, than later. With Skinner and Sekera in the line-up, the chances of 2 points is greatly improved.

Both goalies got a clean slate heading into this season with a new coaching staff, new goalie coach and new management group.

Khudobin through the first four games has clearly established himself as the #1 and I have no doubt that this will be reflected in the ice time as the season continues. unless the Canes decide that they're (totally not) tanking.
